Hey guys, I recently acquired (I found it outside next to someone's trash) a Samsung SyncMaster 932BW. The flashlight trick worked. I had to open and close the start menu repeatedly to notice any discernible difference in the lighting of the monitorHooray! A $20 dollar fix here we go!

Hopefully whatever burned out the backlights in the first place doesn't burn out a new set of themWatch tutorials, do some research if it is the first time you do one of these DIY backlight replacement. There is mercury vapor inside the backlight and if it breaks it could be dangerous. Wear grounding straps, etc so you won't damage circuit boards, etc.

Hi.I had the fan problem with my first 7970 BE, mine was a fault with the card. Afterburner would show 100% fan demand, but the fan speed would not increase, and temps went sky high. You need to return the card to where you bought it.as for the screen ficker, this is due to the memory clock dropping to low in 2d mode. This could be fixed with a firmware/driver but until that happens I cured it by attaching a second monitor. This increased the memory clock automatically, and no more flicker.

If you have a second input on your monitor you might try that. Basically you need to raise the memory clock somehow.
